How to get the most out of your floor scrubber

Is it easy to choose, maintain, and use a floor scrubber properly? It often only seems that way. But we can simplify the process for you.

How to choose the right floor scrubber

Using the right cleaning machine in the right space starts with choosing the right option. Select your machine based on the application and the surface to be cleaned, while also considering factors such as sustainability and your budget.

Prioritize maneuverability in small spaces with a walk-behind model

The BOMA Tempo Run family is a range of robust, user-friendly walk-behind floor scrubbers that clean your floors quickly and efficiently. The smaller models are ideal for offices, stores, and bars, while the larger machines are better suited for warehouses, hospitals, and supermarkets. Maintenance-free batteries with built-in chargers ensure long runtimes and uninterrupted cleaning. The machines can be fitted with brushes or pads and offer high performance. Simplicity, durability, and reliability are the hallmarks of this product range.

Choose a ride-on model for maximum performance on large surfaces

Looking for a floor scrubber suitable for larger areas such as supermarkets, workshops, retail spaces, and airports? Then choose Tempo Ride floor scrubbers. These ride-on floor scrubbers offer long runtimes and deliver maximum performance across large floor areas.

How do you choose the right detergent for your floor scrubber?

When you're looking for the ideal cleaning product to use with your floor scrubber, there are 2 key factors to consider:

  1. Is it a low-foaming product?

Foam is one of your floor scrubber's biggest enemies. If you use a foaming cleaning product, sucking up dirty water along with detergent creates foam in the wastewater tank. And because foam is very light, it gets sucked toward the vacuum motor. In small amounts, that's not a problem, as there is still a foam filter in front of the vacuum motor. But once that filter becomes saturated with foam, all the excess foam reaches the motor. As a result, the vacuum motor gets wet and begins to rust, which eventually means it'll need to be replaced. If you still want to use a foaming product, you can add BOMA Foam Ex (item 205830) to your wastewater tank before using the machine. This reduces foam buildup and protects your vacuum motor.

  1. What is the correct dosage?

Proper dosing of cleaning products is critical. Always follow the recommended dosage exactly. Even with your floor scrubber! If you add too much, you'll get a lot of foam. And now you know what that leads to! And if you underdose, it goes without saying that your cleaning won't deliver the expected results. Luckily, we offer practical dosing systems that always ensure that the correct amount is used.
